State suspends credentials of three Yakima County nurses

Washington State Department of Health officials this week announced that three Yakima County nurses have had their credentials suspended.

The health care workers are Regina J. Mercer, Alicia E. Eirich and Mayra C. Sanchez, all of whom are listed as Yakima County residents.

Mercer, a licensed practical nurse, had her credentials suspended indefinitely. She has been accused of diverting controlled substances for her own use.

Eirich, a registered nurse, has also had her credentials indefinitely suspended. State officials say she did not comply with a substance abuse monitoring program.

Sanchez, a registered nursing assistant, has had her credentials suspended for at least five years. Department of health officials say Sanchez has been convicted of first degree criminal trespassing and making false or misleading statements to a public servant, and allege she stole $50 from a resident of an assisted living facility while employed there.
