Grandview schools gain eight new teachers

GRANDVIEW – The Grandview School Board approved the hiring of eight new employees during last week’s regularly scheduled meeting.

Joining the Grandview School District staff will be Nicole Garza as a K-5 resource special education teacher at Harriet Thompson Elementary School, Samantha Schneider as a language arts teacher at Grandview Middle School, Tracy Berry as a special education teacher at Grandview Middle School, Jamie Downing as a writing HSPE prep camp coach at Grandview High School, Robin Barcenas as a math teacher at Grandview High School, Michaela Leyendekker as a part-time librarian at Harriet Thompson Elementary School, Patricia Amaro as a seventh grade language arts teacher at Grandview Middle School and Pedro Navejas as a sixth grade language arts teacher at Grandview Middle School.

The board also accepted resignation letters from April Caron, a seventh grade language arts teacher at Grandview Middle School; Ramiro Gonzalez, a Grandview High School math teacher; and Margarita Oxford, a parapro at Harriet Thompson Elementary School.

The board also approved a leave of absence request from Harriet Thompson Elementary School parapro Margie Kollmar.
