Gilbert “Wil” Lynn Hernandez, 37, of Grandview went to be with his loving Savior on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013.
Wil was born Jan. 31, 1976 in Umatilla, Ore. to Gilberto and Virginia (Trevino) Hernandez.
Wil received his early education in Sunnyside, and also through the Moses Lake Job Corp. in 1994.
Wil met the love of his life Bellicia Arteaga in 1996, and the two were united in marriage on Aug. 10, 2012, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview.
Wil spent his working years as a cement mason and also in the Laborers’ Union and as an assistant wine maker which is the job Wil enjoyed most of all.
Wil was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grandview, and was a member of the exclusive group “The Sole Sonic Connection.”
He enjoyed sports, camping, softball, cooking, music and making people happy. Wil loved the Denver Broncos and was their #1 fan, but his true love and the most important thing to him was spending time with his wife, Bellicia and two precious children, Isaiah and Liliana.
Wil was a true family man and friend. He brought a smile to all those who knew him and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Wil is survived by his loving wife, Bellicia Hernandez; his children, Isaiah and Liliana; his mother; Virginia Hernandez; and his sisters, Christine (Wally) Palomarez and Jessica (Sandra) Hernandez.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gilberto Hernandez; and his aunt, Rosita Perez.
Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, with burial to follow at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
