Skateboarders attract police attention

Reports of juveniles skateboarding off loading docks in the 700 block of East Edison Avenue were among the suspicious circumstances reported to Sunnyside police during the past 24 hours. Police were unable to locate any skateboard activity in the reported area.

Skateboarders were also reported having been seen in the North Avenue and Woods Road area last night (Thursday). Upon investigation, officers found two youngsters with skateboards playing with toy guns near their homes in the area.

Officers were also called to investigate a report of an unknown person in the back yard of a residence in the 700 block of South Eighth Street. Officers were unable to find the individual.

Yesterday, police also arrested a man, who was reported to have stolen two “leap frog” learning devices from the 2600 block of East Lincoln Avenue Thursday evening. The stolen objects were recovered.

In addition, police responded to three traffic incidents, one report of trespassing, three false alarms, a civil dispute and one juvenile problem. Officers also provided three agency assists, served one arrest warrant and make one attempt to locate an individual.
