Welding supplies stolen in S’side

This morning (Monday) Sunnyside police are investigating a report of stolen welding equipment taken sometime during the night. Workers in the 1500 block of South Fourth Street in Sunnyside reported they had arrived at work this morning only to discover they were missing welding tools and supplies.

The police have no other information at this time regarding the theft and ask anyone with information to call the police department at 836-6200.

Officers also investigated a report of a stolen vehicle, reportedly taken from the 400 block of Rouse Road in Sunnyside sometime yesterday (Sunday). The vehicle was reported as a maroon-colored Honda, but no further details were available.

Police responded to three reports of shots fired during the past weekend, but police were unable to locate evidence of bullets in any of the three locations. Reports of shots fired came from the 800 block of South Hill Road, from the 1500 block of Harvest Place and the 1600 block of Saul Road. However, a number of residents in those areas reported having seen fireworks in the skies over those areas.

In other weekend activities, police responded to eight alarms, two animal complaints, two assaults, four reports of disorderly conduct, three juvenile problems, 11 reports of loud music, made 12 traffic stops and investigated two reports of trespassing. In other activities, the police provided four agency assists, served four arrest warrants, handled four informational calls and provided three welfare checks.

Numerous police calls in G’view

GRANDVIEW – Police in Grandview are investigating a report of shots fired near Ash Street made Saturday night.

Over the weekend officers also stopped three vehicles for suspected DUI.

Grandview police are also investigating a theft report made yesterday afternoon (Sunday). No details on what was taken were available.

Since last Friday morning police have also handled five noise complaints, four automatic alarms, three reports of domestic problems, a report of an animal problem, a report of illegal burning, a citizen complaint, five traffic problems, a report of a court order violation, a report of an assault, a report of trespassing, five reports of suspicious activity and an emergency medical call.

In that time officers also provided five agency assists, conducted two welfare checks, investigated an abandoned vehicle and served a court order.

Stolen car recovered by deputies

Yakima County Sheriff deputies recovered a 2006 Pontiac a few hours after it was stolen yesterday morning (Sunday) from the 700 block of Walnut Lane near Grandview. The car was found on Fraser Road near Grandview.

Saturday night deputies investigated a report of the theft of an Xbox and keys from the 1200 block of South Emerald Road near Sunnyside.

Also Saturday night a vehicle in the 800 block of Hickory Road near Grandview was vandalized. A window was broken out of the vehicle.

Late last night a person reported seeing horses running down the road near the intersection of Gurley and Dekker roads near Outlook. Deputies were unable to locate any loose horses on the roadway in the area.

Since last Friday morning deputies have also responded to six automatic alarms, five reports of domestic problems, a report of illegal dumping, three traffic problems, six reports of suspicious circumstances, four noise complaints, two reports of court order violations, a report of custodial interference, a report of an assault and a citizen dispute.
