Pirates off to good start

KLICKITAT – The Bickleton Pirates put in a good showing at the season opening jamboree in Klickitat last night, winning their two non-regulation length games.

Bickleton went up against host Klickitat in the first 10-minute game and won 16-7. The second game was even more of a runaway for the Pirates. They defeated the Glenwood Eagles 15-2.

“We played pretty well tonight given it was our first game,” said Bickleton Coach Jerry Roberts. “I’m really proud of the boys and the effort they put out. We had some really nice team ball tonight and I am glad to see the good ball movement from this team. We will see how we gel together.”

The 1B Pirates varsity travels to Mabton tonight, Dec. 5, to take on the JV Vikings.
