Making waves

Tavian Valenzuela of Grandview surfaces for air while competing in the 100-yard breaststroke last Saturday at Yakima’s Lions Pool. Valenzuela and his Grandview High School teammates took on Pullman. The Spokane-area boys swim team emerged victorious by a final score of 123-43. The best finishes Grandview mustered were a pair of second-place performances by Micah Binfet in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard breaststroke, and a runner-up effort by Brendon Lynch in the 200-yard individual medley. Grandview is scheduled to compete at Lions Pool again this coming Thursday.
