Elected officials get 2.2 percent pay hike

YAKIMA – Most elected officials in Yakima County government will receive 2.2 percent pay raises effective April 2014.

That’s the result of action taken yesterday by Yakima County commissioners.

“Basically it reflects the pay increases that non-represented employees will get,” said Linda Dixon, the county’s human resources director. “It just treats elected officials the same.”

The salary increases approved yesterday apply to the assessor, auditor, clerk, coroner, sheriff and treasurer. The only elected posts not receiving a 2.2 percent pay raise are county commissioners, the prosecuting attorney and judges.
