Vandals go on egging spree in S’side

Sunnyside police are investigating what appears to have been an early morning rash of incidents involving several dozen eggs.

Police started receiving reports of cars being egged just after midnight this morning. The egging spree appeared to be centered in the Harrison Hill area between Grandview Avenue and Swan Road, but cars were also reportedly splattered with eggs near South First Street.

Police investigated 14 reports of egging and received two informational calls regarding a reddish color truck which may have been involved in the spree.

One reporting party said a thrown egg has broken the window of her vehicle in the 1800 block of South First Street just after 1 a.m. today.

Police are seeking information regarding the early morning incidents.

In other weekend activity, police investigated six reports of shoplifting, one report of an attempted burglary, responded to six reports of business alarms and four reports of residential alarms. Officers also investigated six reports of suspicious circumstances, made eight traffic stops and investigated one case of fraud.

Police also provided three agency assists and three citizen assists since last Friday.
