Breaking News: Outlook residents escape harm in drive-by shooting



Margie McPherson, 92, of Grandview died Thursday Jan. 31, 2013.

Margie was born Margie Doubrac on Nov. 22, 1921 to John and Josephine Doubrac at home in Sunnyside. Marge attended school at Wendell Phillips and Sunnyside High School.

She married James F. McPherson on Jan. 11, 1944. They farmed in the Green Valley area from 1944 to 1955. In 1960 James and Margie planted a pear and apple orchard north of Grandview.

Margie's husband, James, passed away in March of 1992, and Margie continued farming until 2008.

Margie moved to Just Like Home in Sunnyside in 2011. Margie managed Bern's Tavern in Prosser from 1959 to 1978, and also worked in the food deli at Food Depot in Prosser, where she was well known and liked by all.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Agnes) McPherson, Archie (Patricia) McPherson and Greg McPherson; six grandchildren, Matt McPherson, Jennifer McPherson-Pesicek, Shan McPherson, Chelsea Downie, Alissa McPherson and Tyler McPherson; and five great- grandchildren.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, James McPherson; seven brothers, Tony, Frank, Johni, Charlie, Roy, Fred and Bob; and five sisters, Della Elliott, Anna Kelliegh, Lillian Flora, Pauline Bell and Dorthy Smith.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Valley Hill Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Graveside services will be held Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
