Lenten soup's on at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church

Homemade soup and pie lunches will be served every Wednesday at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Sunnyside, beginning Feb. 20.

It's a Lenten tradition in Sunnyside to enjoy the meals prepared by members of the church, who will be serving a different soup and variety of pie each Wednesday through March 20.

Lunch begins at 11:30 a.m. and ends at 1:30 p.m. each Wednesday.

Soups planned this year include potato soup on Feb. 20; hamburger barley on Feb. 28; chicken noodle on March 6; white bean with chicken will be prepared by the new chefs in the kitchen (the Trinity Episcopal men) on March 13; and gourmet vegetable soup will be served on March 20. A variety of pies are also planned for this season's menu.

The cost for each meal is $8, which includes soup, pie and a beverage. Meals are available for take-out or delivery in addition to the dine-in option.

To order soup and pie, call 837-4727 before noon each Wednesday.
