On Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called upon his daughter, Noemi Delgado Montiel, 74, of Sunnyside into his heavenly home, where she now sits next to him.
Noemi lived a humble life as a single mother sacrificing all in order to raise her children and to give them the best life possible. She was born in 1938, and she lived her greater life here in Sunnyside, where she worked hard. Nothing came easy for her and in retrospect her complete life shall remain a testament to those who knew her.
Born to her are Alfonso and Yolanda who were blessed to have the best mother in the world. Our mother on her own was a father and mother and showed us how to be men and women, taught us how to be hard workers, and not to settle for just anything but to reach for the stars. The same stars that she now lives amongst with her new angel wings that Jesus has fitted her with.
Mom you are here and will always be and we are truly blessed that you are our guardian angel.
The morning came all of the sudden, little did I know that when I carried you out in my arms at the hospital, Jesus was there with his arms extended out to me as to say, "Here let me take her, it's my turn to carry her!" Thank you Lord for the blessing of the time you have allowed us with her but, I understand that you need her more. Even so, it's still difficult to hold the tears back.
But that's not where the story ends. The legacy of your name continues with your granddaughter, Samantha, your grandson, Erik, and your great-grandson, "EL Baby" Gabriel. I know you have touched them as you touched us. I know you will be watching after them. Who knows maybe one of them will turn out to be a "Mama's Boy," like me?
Noemi is survived by a sister, Eustasia "Saida" (Carlos) Ramos of Sunnyside; daughter, Yolanda of Sunnyside; son, Alfonso of Sunnyside; one granddaughter, Samantha; one grandson, Erick; and one great-grandson, "El Baby" Gabriel.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Francisco (Kiko) Delgado of St. Paul Minn.; her mother, who in the last few weeks you seemed to be talking about a lot. Mom I know you are reunited with them, as I hope one day we will follow. Forgive me for being so selfish and wanting to keep you, knowing you feel the same pain that I do.
We would like to invite all those who wish to witness a celebration of life of a very remarkable woman. We Love you Mom!
Viewing will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Services will be held Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Sunnyside, followed by a horse- drawn carriage to graveside services at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
