Of 30 properties originally headed to foreclosure, 21 will be auctioned off later this month.
That's according to an update provided this past Tuesday to the SVID Board of Directors.
Lori Brady is an SVID assistant manager who heads administration, and yesterday confirmed the number of foreclosures at 21. She said the auction will take place on Jan. 18.
The foreclosures are the result of outstanding assessment fees for irrigation water that have gone unpaid over a period of several years.
Normally, the vast majority of properties have their assessments paid on time or are caught up before foreclosures are filed.
SVID anticipates receiving $8.7 million in assessment fees on 92,000 acres in its coverage area in 2013.
