City vies for 2.6 acres to help accommodate sewer plant growth

MABTON - The Mabton City Council, on Tuesday of this week, agreed to begin the process of acquiring 2.6 acres of land adjacent to the city's wastewater treatment facility.

City Attorney Phil Lamb said by passing Ordinance 1000, council members agreed to begin the process of legally obtaining rights to the land.

"It's a negotiated sale," Lamb added.

The city hopes to acquire the land in order to continue with additions and renovations to the wastewater plant.
