Angel Acevedo, 86, of Prosser, entered into rest on Friday, June 7, 2013, in Grandview. He was born Aug. 2, 1926, in Michoacan, Mexico, where he was raised and educated. He came to the U.S. in 1945 and lived in California until settling in Sunnyside. He later resided in Grandview and for the past seven years had been living at Sun Terrace in Prosser. Angel was a farm laborer and worked very hard, taking pride in his work. For several years, he worked for Wyckoff Farms in Sunnyside as an irrigation specialist until retiring in 1990. Angel was a devoted Christian and a member of El Calverio Church in Sunnyside. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and gardening. Angel is survived by his sons, Ramon (Evangelia) Acevedo of Grandview, Miguel (Yolanda) Acevedo of Sunnyside, Martin Acevedo of California, Edward Acevedo of Pasco and Juan Acevedo of Prosser; his daughter, Maria Saenz and husband Natividad of Prosser; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held today, June 11, 2013 and Wednesday, June 12, 2013, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Prosser Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Prosser Funeral Home, with concluding services and burial to follow at Prosser Cemetery.
