Terrified homeowner hides in bathroom during burglary

A burglary in progress was reported to Yakima County Sheriff deputies from the 2300 block of Phipps Road near Sunnyside last Friday morning. The female victim in the house hid in a bathroom until law enforcement units arrived and arrested two suspects. Medical attention was summoned for the victim, who was described by officers on the scene as "very shaken up."

Local bar shut down after police say they discover handguns

Last Saturday morning at about 1:15 a.m., Sunnyside cops along with liquor control board officials conducted spot checks at Tequilas, located in the 500 block of South Sixth Street in Sunnyside. Officers say they located two handguns inside the establishment, in the back room of the bar, inside cases.
