The Sunnyside School Board last week approved contracts for new staff, as well as several resignations and retirements.
A contract for 2013-14 for Sunnyside High School English teacher Celia Jimenez was approved.
For the remainder of the 2012-13 school year contracts were approved for Patric Vincent (SHS), Brian Frank (District), Ana Dura (Outlook Elementary School), Christine Gould (Pioneer Elementary School), Norberto Bobadilla (SEMY), Brigid Smith (Sierra Vista Middle School track), Gloria Cisneros-Madrigal (Washington Elementary School), Annette Campbell (Sun Valley Elementary School) and five GLAD trainers. They include Sandra Benitez, Erica Quiroz, Kimberly Cook, Gerry Muller and Jeri Paulakis.
Turning in resignations were Harrison Middle School's Marisela Macias, Pioneer Elementary School's Christine Gould, speech pathologist Teressa Koffler, payroll assistant Ronda Warwick, Outlook Elementary School's Adrianna Miller, literacy coach Patrice Cornelius and psychologist Sherri Eaton-Bin Daar.
Retiring at the end of the year will be Washington Elementary School para-educator Martha Bright.
A leave of absence was approved for Crystal Quiroz of Washington Elementary School, Rosa Magana of Outlook Elementary School, district cook Rebecca Ruppert and Joana Vasquez of Outlook Elementary School.
