Hector Marcos Rocha Sr., 57, of Burbank and long time resident of the Lower Yakima Valley passed away on May 3, 2013 in Portland Ore.

Hector was born on June 10, 1955 to Margarita and Jose Rocha. He was a great son, brother, father, cousin, uncle and a best friend to many people.

Hector had a passion for driving semi trucks, he was raised around them all his life, and he along with his father Jose had Rocha Trucking for many years.

Hector also enjoyed cooking, which he inherited from his mom Margarita. He made the best caldo de res (beef soup), also enjoyed keeping up his yard and his small collection of cars.

Hector was a mentor/role model to his nieces and nephews, his cousins and too many more. You could call on him for anything at anytime. He was learning new things all the time, like how to text. It was a joy to get that random text from while he was on the road or just relaxing at home "what's up", as he would say "machete is learning how to text so text me so I can practice."

At many family gatherings or just hanging out with him, it was always a joy to just sit back and hear him tell stories about his brothers or other family members or friends, but he always allowed anyone else to say their part too. Hector will be missed by many.

Hector is survived by his three children, Hector Marcos Rocha Jr. "Buggs" of Pomona Calif., Melissa Rocha "Monster" of Kennewick and Bianaca Rocha of San Antonio, Texas; his siblings, Ruth (Rocha) (Antonio) Ciriano of Prosser, Enemias (Esperansa) Rocha of Chula Vista, Calif., Elias (Sally) Rocha of Sunnyside, Moses (Martha) Rocha of Pasco, Juan (Maria) Rocha of Pasco, Becky Rocha of Grandview, and Baldemar (Ofelia) Daniel of Ontario, Calif.; two aunts, Victoria Rocha of Sunnyside and Linda (Rey) Cervantes of Prosser; and one uncle Antonio (Olga) Daniel of Sunnyside; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces; great-nephews; and cousins.

Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2013, from 1 to 8 p.m., with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside
