Nancy Egland of Yakima claimed top honors this past Tuesday in Intervalley ladies play at Sunnyside's Black Rock Creek Golf Course.
Golfers from the Upper and Lower Yakima Valley, the Tri-Cities and Ellensburg compete in monthly Intervalley tournaments throughout the summer. Black Rock Creek traditionally hosts the month of May's competition.
Egland carded the low 18-hole round Tuesday from a field that numbered about 50 golfers, shooting a 6-over-par 78.
Low net of field honors (actual score minus handicap) were claimed by Grandview's Marilyn McGann. She recorded a handicap-aided 66, six strokes below her scoring average.
The low individual round from among the host Black Rock Creek team was a 9-over-par 81, posted by Sunnyside's Carol Monholland.
Black Rock Creek's Paula Atkinson, also from Sunnyside, had the second low score from among the local squad...a 96.
The only Black Rock Creek Golf Course member to record a chip-in shot Tuesday was Karen Gustafson of Grandview. She chipped her ball from off the green into the cup on the par-4, 10th hole.
