RICHLAND - A two-stroke margin of victory over the host Horn Rapids team was claimed by Black Rock Creek last Wednesday at the third stop on the 2013 Mid-Columbia Senior Golf Tour.
Chris Indall paved the way for the Sunnyside-area team by carding an 8-over-par 80 at Horn Rapids Golf Course.
Team scores are computed by tallying the two low individual gross rounds along with the six low individual net rounds (actual score minus handicap).
Black Rock Creek totaled a 624. The Horn Rapids squad tallied a second-best 626. The Pendleton Country Club and Columbia Point teams finished third and fourth in the team standings last Wednesday with scores of 633 and 648, respectively.
Along with Indall’s round of 80, Black Rock Creek got a 91 from Akira Nozaka.
Black Rock Creek’s six low net rounds were recorded by Bud McGuiness-70, Bob Barker-74, Rich Wakeland-75, Max Wickham-78, Mike Nichols-78 and Eli Gonzales-78.
Through three events thus far this year, Black Rock Creek sits atop the senior golf tour standings with 42 points. The Columbia Point team is second in the team standings with 33.5 points.
The next stop on the tour is slated for this Friday, May 31, at the Pendleton Country Club. Local seniors have until this Wednesday, May 29, to sign up in the Black Rock Creek pro shop if they want to make the trek to Pendleton.
