MABTON - With its fleet of buses aging, the Mabton School District will purchase a new bus for handicapped students.
The move was approved last night, Tuesday, by the Mabton School Board. It was noted the current fleet is experiencing costly repair issues.
Business Manager Gina Grow noted the district has not purchased a bus in three years and the fund dedicated to bus purchases now sits at $440,000.
The bus approved last night has a base cost of $88,853 and will be purchased from Everett-based Bryson Sales & Service of Washington. It will be delivered in about six months.
It was also noted an 84-passenger school bus is under consideration for purchase next year.
