Sunnyside wrestlers Jesse Torres, 17, and Jesse Barajas, 16, will hold a car wash Saturday, June 1, at Taco Bell on Yakima Valley Highway from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The young men are working to raise funds so they can travel to and compete in a summer wrestling tournament in Oklahoma City in late June, according to Juan Barajas, father of the younger of the two grapplers.
The Sunnyside High School state ranked wrestlers are members of the Victory Wrestling Club, whose members compete in summer tournaments around the United States. They will be representing the Washington State Wrestling Association at the Oklahoma City meet, said Barajas.
Torres will compete in the 106-lb. division, while the younger Barajas will compete in the 113-lb. division. During the past high school wrestling season, Barajas won the State title in his weight division while Torres took third place in his division at the State championships for 3A schools.
