Graffiti taggers hit downtown Sunnyside

Graffiti vandals were out in force, according to the Sunnyside police. During the last 24 hours, taggers have hit nine different businesses and residences throughout the community.

Sunnyside areas hit by the vandals included a light pole in the downtown Sunnyside at the intersection of South Sixth Street and East Decatur, two businesses in the 400 block of East Edison Avenue, a building in the block of 1400 of East Edison Avenue, two businesses in the 400 block of South Sixth Street, a building in the 500 block of South Fifth Street, a building in the 1400 block of Federal Way, a building in the 800 block of Custer Avenue and a building in the 1500 block of East Edison Avenue. All of the tagging sightings are under investigation.

In other activity, police investigated reports of seven suspicious circumstances, one residential alarm report, one report of a vehicle theft, one disorderly conduct report, one report of a civil matter, two domestic complaints and one disorderly complaint.

Officers also provided one agency assist, served one arrest warrant, handled six informational calls and made one welfare check.
