GRANDVIEW – There were no surprises in the election results for the races for Grandview School Board director positions.
All three seats had single candidates running unopposed. Incumbents Paul Jepson and Zulma Ochoa both retain their seats, and newcomer Antonio Sanchez will be taking the position vacated by Lydia Moreno.
Sanchez said his goal on the school board will be to bridge the gap between parents and the district and emphasize the importance of an education among the families of migrant workers.
Ochoa said she plans to continue supporting teachers and creating opportunities for students.
Jepson indicated that student safety is one of his priorities for the coming term.
