Motorists warned to slow down in low visibility conditions

Low visibility due to yesterday’s foggy weather was the blame for three near accidents reported to Sunnyside police during the past 24-hours.

Several motorists reported nearly hitting pedestrians walking in the roadways yesterday evening as the low light and foggy conditions intensified hazardous walking conditions and low visibility for motorists.

Sunnyside police are advising motorists to take extra care driving as winter-type weather continues to settle into the Lower Valley.

In other activity officers investigated a report of a vehicle theft, one animal complaint, two reports of juvenile problems, one report of loud music and three reports of suspicious circumstances. Sunnyside police also provided one agency assist and served two court orders.
