Shoplifters apprehended

Two alleged shoplifters were arrested by Sunnyside police last night (Thursday), one captured at WalMart and the other caught by police after allegedly stealing condoms, lighters, candy and head phones from Fiesta Foods.

Sunnyside police also made an arrest after a female with a gun was reported trespassing at a residence in the 400 block of West Maple Avenue yesterday morning.

Another theft was reported to police yesterday from the 300 block of Grant Avenue. Some cash was reported stolen and the victims provided police with a suspect’s name.

Officers also spotted a person walking in the middle of the road near the intersection of South Fourth Street and Grant Avenue who appeared disoriented and investigated the situation.

Since yesterday morning police have also responded to three automatic alarms, two reports of animal problems, a domestic problem, three reports of juvenile problems, a noise complaint, six reports of suspicious activity and two traffic problems.

In that time officers also investigated a report of fraud, a report of harassment and a report of child abuse.
