Sarmiento football forecast contest winner

Sunnyside’s Bob Sarmiento Sr. was the lone entrant with only three misses this past week in the Lower Valley Merchants Football Forecast Contest.

Sarmiento wins the first place $50 prize, leaving Sunnyside’s T.J. Aguilar in second place with four misses and a three-month subscription to the Daily Sun News.

Two weeks remain in this year’s 40th annual contest, but there’s still time to get your entry in and try for the weekly $50 cash prizes. Look for the entry blank inside this issue.

You can enter the Lower Valley Merchants Football Forecast Contest by filling out the form on the printed page in today’s paper and dropping it by the Daily Sun News office at 600 S. Sixth St., Sunnyside, or faxing it to 509-837-6397. You can also enter online by clicking on the flaming football at All entries must be received by 4 p.m. Friday to qualify.
