Sunnyside firemen kept busy with alarms, fires and assists

Sunnyside firefighters responded to a report of a smoke alarm activation late Sunday afternoon in the 1400 block of Scoon Road, only to have the call cancelled en route, according to the weekend Sunnyside fire report.

Also on Sunday, firemen were called to provide a citizen assist in the 300 block of South Eighth Street.

Since last Friday, firemen have responded to a report of a dumpster fire in the 1100 block of Decatur Avenue, an electrical fire in the 1300 block of South Sixth Street and assisted Yakima County Fire District #5 with a smoke alarm, which proved unfounded.

Sunnyside EMTs also have responded to 14 aid calls, provided 11 transports and conducted three facility transfers since last Friday.
