Third home in two days hit by gunfire from drive-by’s

Late last night (Monday), Yakima County Sheriff deputies were summoned to the 100 block of Crewport Road, just north of Granger after a report of a drive-by shooting of a home. Responding deputies found shell casings from a high power rifle in the roadway. Deputies said about 11 rounds were fired into the home.

Like this past Saturday’s shootings in the 1000 block of South 11th Street in Sunnyside, in which two homes were struck with bullets, there were no injuries. The occupants told deputies they were unaware why anyone would want to shoot at their house.

Deputies ask anyone with information on the incident to call the Sheriff’s office at 574-2500.

Deputies also investigated a theft report made this past Saturday afternoon from the 800 block of Outlook Road near Outlook. The victim reported a projector was stolen.

Since last Friday morning deputies have also handled four traffic incidents, three reports of domestic problems, seven reports of suspicious activity, two animal problems, a noise complaint, a civil matter, a report of a vehicle fire, a report of a runaway juvenile and four automatic alarms.

In that time deputies also provided assistance to a citizen, conducted two welfare checks, taken an informational call, investigated a report of a missing person, recovered two stolen vehicles and provided two agency assists.
