Wildcats claw out 3-1 win against SHS

EAST WENATCHEE – Buoyed by freshman Cheyanne Greening’s 401 two-game series, the Eastmont Wildcats defeated the Sunnyside High School girls bowling team yesterday afternoon, 3-1.

Greening rolled a 225 in Tuesday’s opener, propelling the ‘Cats to a 773-607 romp.

The Eastmont freshman also had the high game for the Wildcats in game-two, a 176, which led to a 689-598 win over the visiting Lady Grizzlies.

Eastmont clinched the match in the first of the two Baker games, prevailing 146-121.

Sunnyside averted the sweep by winning the second Baker game, 140-137.

Sunnyside’s Johanna Chum-

ley had the second high two-game series on the day. She tallied a 333 on games of 153-180.

Also competing for the Lady Grizzlies yesterday were Elisha Noyola (118-132), Brianna Esqueda (132-93), Carla Rodriguez (110-107) and Thalia Borja (94-86).

The SHS bowling team (1-4) is scheduled to host two matches at Sunnyside’s Valley Lanes next week – Tuesday against Selah and Thursday against West Valley.
