Careless shooters endanger home

Yakima County Sheriff deputies responded to a complaint made last Saturday night of bullets ricocheting off a house in the 1900 block of Alexander Extension. The victim said people use the hill above the house for target shooting. Deputies investigated the incident.

Deputies also investigated a report of theft made last Friday morning from the 1500 block of Belma Road near Grandview. The victim reported propane was missing.

Deputies also handled two incidents of cows on the roadway over the weekend. One report on Friday came from the intersection of West Hudson Road and Yakima Valley Highway. Deputies were unable to locate the cow. On Saturday morning cows were reported running on the road in the 1200 block of Southwest Crescent Road near Sunnyside.

Since last Friday morning deputies have also responded to four traffic incidents, a noise complaint, three reports of domestic problems, a citizen dispute, two reports of malicious mischief, a report of suspicious activity, two reports of abandoned vehicles and a report of a runaway juvenile.

In that time deputies also conducted three welfare checks, provided two agency assists, recovered two stolen vehicles and provided assistance to a citizen.
