School has started, the season is changing and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho, including those fresh young faces in the Yakima Valley, have an incredible selection of fall candies, chocolates and nuts for sale throughout the region.
Girl Scouts participating in the fall product sale generate funds for their troop to support activities, badges, books and supplies, field trips, programs and travel opportunities.
The edible fall product line includes popular nuts, chocolates and candy inside a decorative tin, can or boxed package. The sale of these products supports local Girl Scout activities in the communities where the girls live. Orders can be placed with a local Girl Scout until Sunday, Oct. 20. Items will be delivered Nov. 14-29 just in time for holiday giving.
“Girls learn how to work together to reach their troop and individual goals so they can participate in special troop activities earlier in the year,” said Kelly Thompson, GSEWNI product sales manager. “This Girl Scout program provides girls with another leadership opportunity to learn five essential skills: goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills and business ethics.”
This year’s product selection includes Mint Trefoils, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Dark Chocolate Covered Cashews, Pecan Supremes, Peanut Butter Cups, Chocolate Covered Raisins, Butter Toffee Peanuts, Chocolate Covered Almonds, Double Dipped Chocolate Peanuts, Spicy Cajun Mix and fat free fruit slices.
Items are priced between $6 and $8 with most items priced at $6 per container. The Mint Trefoils and Chocolate Pretzels come in a decorative tin and the other products come in a box or themed can with a resealable lid.
