Rounds edges Mirelez for win in merchants football forecast contest

Former Sunnysider, and faithful football forecast entrant, Dave Rounds of Portland edged our Sunnyside’s Roberta Mirelez on the tiebreaker to take last week’s football contest and the $50 first place prize. Both Rounds and Mirelez only missed two games, but Rounds’ total points bested Mirelez for first place.

Mirelez will receive a three-month subscription to the Daily Sun News for her second place finish.

More and more entries keep coming in each week. If you don’t enter, you can’t win.

Everyone can enter the Lower Valley Merchants forecast contest by filling out the form in today’s Daily Sun News or in the Wednesday Sun News Shopper and dropping it off at our office at 600 S. 6th St., Sunnyside, or faxing it to 509-837-6397. You can also enter online by going to and clicking on the flaming football. All entries must be received by 4 p.m. Friday to qualify.
