Grandview sinks Viking ship, 2-1

SELAH – Grandview last night visited the home of the Selah Vikings and earned a shootout victory, 2-1.

The Lady ‘Hounds drew first blood in the ninth minute.

Selah was able to equalize the match 11 minutes later.

The teams remained in a 1-1 deadlock through the remainder of regulation and neither Grandview nor the Vikings were able to score in overtime.

That forced the two CWAC league foes into a shootout.

During the shootout, Grandview was able to get the ball between the crossbars five times, whereas Selah had only four players who capitalized on the opportunity to score.

Winning the shootout gave Grandview the 2-1 victory.

Selah’s keeper, Lily Kikendall, and Madison Trevino of the Lady ‘Hounds recorded six saves apiece.

Lady Greyhound Coach Anne Holden was unavailable for comment as of press time.

Grandview (3-2, 5-6) will this coming Saturday host Toppenish.
