Nouvella Club meeting Oct. 17

The featured speaker at this month’s Nouvella Club meeting will be David Van Klinken.

He will share his knowledge of Central American coffee, as well as other economic and cultural aspects at the Thursday, Oct. 17, meeting.

The meeting, open to the public, will be held at Sunnyside’s Snipes Mountain Restaurant and Brewery, starting with a noon luncheon.

The cost for the luncheon is $13. To make reservations call 837-5598 by Monday, Oct. 14.

Two Sunnyside Republican Club meetings before General Election

There will be two Sunnyside Republican Club meetings before the Tuesday, Nov. 5, General Election.

Because of scheduling limitations, the club will be provided a presentation regarding I-522 at its Friday, Oct. 18, meeting. Also speaking at the meeting will be Sunnyside City Council candidates Dean Broersma and Sam Ramirez.

On Friday, Oct. 25, a presentation about I-517 will be provided. City council candidates Theresa Hancock, Robert Perales, Don Vlieger and Spencer Martin are scheduled to talk about their campaigns.

Both the Oct. 18 and 25 meetings will be held at 7 a.m. at the Sunny Spot restaurant.

The public is urged to attend the no-host breakfast meetings.

Free business tax seminar in Spanish

RCDR Business Resources & Training Center and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Yakima County will be facilitating a business tax educational seminar for new and emerging small business owners, or those that need a refresher on state and federal reporting requirements.

The seminar will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Sunnyside WorkSource office, located at 1925 Morgan Rd.

The seminar will be presented in Spanish.

Pre-registration is required for the seminar. Call 509-453-5133 by Monday, Oct. 14, to register.

Space is limited to 15 individuals.
