I’ve heard it said it takes a village to raise a child.
Well, thanks to my “local village” full of family, friends and unknown supporters – plus all the “cyber space villages” – I now get to travel to Las Vegas on Nov. 10 to compete in the 46th Pillsbury Bake-off.
I want to thank everyone who voted for my recipe – Raspberry Apple Stacks. Your votes put me one step closer to competing for $1 million.
I don’t deny that winning the money would be fantastic, but that is not what it’s all about. It’s about having fun doing what you love, and knowing that food professionals, who don’t know you, chose your recipe and decided it was worthy to put on-line so the American public could cast their votes for their favorite recipes.
For me, baking for family and friends is very heart-warming. I love to see the joy on their faces when they get their goodies.
My journey to the Pillsbury Bake-off has been so much fun and filled with moments of people wishing me well. I wish I could bake for all of you!
I’ll keep practicing and will do my best at the bake-off to hopefully impress the judges enough so that “what happens in Vegas, this time, won’t stay in Vegas.”
Thanks to everyone, again, for all your support.
