Kamiakin High play opens on Halloween

KENNEWICK – Kenne­wick’s Kamiakin High School Drama Club presents its 2013-14 season opening production, “Up the Down Staircase,” based on the best-selling novel by Bel Kaufman.

The comedic drama is the funny and touching story of a committed, idealistic teacher who fights against school bureaucracy to reach her working-class students in 1960s New York City.

Show times are Thursday, Oct. 31, at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Admission prices are $5 with student ASB cards and $7 without.

The production will be staged at the Kamiakin High School auditorium, located at 600 N. Arthur in Kennewick.
