‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ at the Princess

PROSSER - The Princess Theatre in Prosser will host two showings of the Halloween cult classic “Rocky Horror Picture Show” tomorrow (Saturday) at 8 p.m. and midnight.

The event includes a “Time Warp Costume Contest” at 7:45 and 11:45 p.m. with prizes donated by Octopus Garden.

The cost is $15 per person for admission to the movie, props bag and pre-show party in the adjoining Green Room. The party includes music, dancing, free candy, a trivia contest, no-host bar and more.

“If you’ve never seen this movie with Rocky Horror Picture Show fanatics, here’s what you need to know,” said Mari Page, special events coordinator for the Princess Theatre. “Rocky Horror Picture Show is not a horror film…it is a rock-musical send-up of old science-fiction and horror films. People yell back lines at the screen, dress up in costume, act out the film and throw props during the movie.”

She adds, “Just bring your sense of humor and $15 to get your very own props kit with bubbles, newspaper, toast, script and more.”

Training and refresher sessions for the interactive portions of the film will begin at 7:30 and 11:30 p.m.

Due to theater policy, attendees will not be permitted to bring their own props into the theater.

Rocky Horror Picture Show is being presented with the permission of Universal Pictures and is rated “R” -- not suitable for children under 17 without parental guidance.
