YVCC Playmasters present ‘Cat on a Hot Tin Roof’

YAKIMA - Yakima Valley Community College Playmasters will present Tennessee Williams’ “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 14-16, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m. in Kendall Auditorium, located at the YVCC Yakima campus.

Admission will be $7 for students and $10 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the YVCC bookstore or at the box office the night of the performance.

The production is directed by Alicia Bickley.

One of Williams’ best-known works and his personal favorite, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” won the Pulitzer Prize for drama in 1955.

Set in the “plantation home in the Mississippi Delta” of Big Daddy Pollitt, a wealthy cotton tycoon, the play examines the relationships among members of Big Daddy’s family, primarily between his son Brick and Maggie the “Cat”, Brick’s wife.

“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

The play contains adult language and situations.
