SCHS Lady Knights keep perfect mark intact

TROUT LAKE – McKenzie Benjert led the Lady Knights to victory against the Trout Lake Mustangs last Friday with a 37-for-37 serving performance.

“We were led on the service line by McKenzie Benjert tonight,” said Lady Knights Coach Stephanie Dalrymple. “In set one she pushed 15 points for us. And in set three she pushed 12. In both those sets Trout Lake really struggled to receive her serve.”

The result was a three-set win for the undefeated Lady Knights, 25-8, 25-15, 25-8.

Benjert also tallied nine assists in the match. Annie Brouwer added six perfect passes and four digs to Sunnyside Christian’s effort. Lady Knight Stormee Van Belle also had eight perfect passes.

“Our passing also looked good tonight,” said Dalrymple. “We were also very aggressive at the attack. We played very well as a team again tonight.”

Lady Knight Brittany Broersma contributed nine kills. Kate Newhouse spiked the ball for three kills and dug up the ball five times. Kristen Broersma was 6-for-6 serving. And Aydan Harrington tallied six assists.

Sunnyside Christian (8-0, 12-0) travels to Bickleton tomorrow, Oct. 29.
