Dominant performance by Sunnyside

Lady Grizzly Victoria Torres drives the ball down the field in last night’s non-league victory over Toppenish at Sunnyside’s Clem Senn Field. Sunnyside (0-2, 3-2) won decisively, 6-1, after Toppenish took an early one-point lead. Scoring for Sunnyside were: junior Susan Arreola, who made two goals back-to-back in the 21st and 22nd minutes; sophomore Alexis Aguilar, who scored in the 31st minute with an assist by freshman Aylin Bautista; freshman Emilee Maldonado, who scored on a corner kick by freshman Jessica Mendoza in the 52nd minute; Bautista, who scored in the 73rd minute with an assist by senior Sydnee Hernandez; and junior Karina Perez, who also got an assist by Hernandez to score in the 76th minute.
