A two-car head-on collision on East Yakima Valley Highway Wednesday evening sent one person to the Sunnyside Community Hospital emergency room, according to a Sunnyside police report.
The accident, which occurred at approximately 10 p.m. in the 2600 block of East Yakima Valley Highway in Sunnyside, resulted in the driver of one of the involved vehicles being cited for failure to yield the right of way. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Officers also investigated a report of a burglary in the 1700 block of Morgan Road. There was no report of anything missing, but one individual was detained for questioning by police officers.
Additionally, police investigated a report of shoplifting in the 2600 block of East Lincoln Avenue in which four suspects were held for questioning.
In other activity, police also investigated three reports of automatic alarms, two animal complaints, one civil matter, a juvenile problem, five suspicious circumstances and made one traffic stop.
Officers further provided two agency assists, a citizen assist, fielded four informational calls, made a welfare check and one public service contact since Wednesday morning.
