Award-winning film on-screen Friday, April 11

GRANGER – “Cement Suitcase,” the award-winning movie filmed in the Yakima Valley by former Granger resident Rick Castaneda, will be shown for the first time in Castaneda’s home town on Friday, April 11, at Granger High School.

Castaneda graduated from Granger in 1999, and then went to film school at USC. He has been working in the media industry for years.

The movie is the story of a Yakima Valley wine salesman and the problems in his life.

Castaneda has given the Granger High School volleyball team permission to show his film as a fundraiser to help the team fund its camp this summer.

The team will be providing a baked potato feed starting at 6 p.m. in the Granger High commons, with the film to follow after dinner.

Admission for adults is $10, children 5 to 12 is $5 and family prices are set at for $30. The dinner will be presale only.
