Fundraising efforts for Hastings’ D.C. seat ramp up in Lower Valley

KENNEWICK – The camp for Fourth District Republican Congressional candidate George Cicotte announced late last week that he raised more than $100,000, as of the quarterly reporting period that ended March 31.

The Kennewick attorney is one of several candidates who has announced he will seek the seat being vacated by U.S. Congressman Doc Hastings (R-Pasco).

Last week, Sunnyside-area farmer Dan Newhouse, a Republican, also revealed his fundraising efforts for Hastings’ seat have totaled more than $150,000. Newhouse is a former 15th District state lawmaker and served as director of the Washington State Department of Agriculture during Gov. Christine Gregoire’s second term in office.
