Police recover stolen vehicle

MABTON – Mabton police were kept busy last weekend handling reports of a car in the ditch and neighborhood disputes, according to Mabton Police Chief Ricardo Gutierrez.

Officers investigated a report of a vehicle stolen from the 700 block of Fern Street Saturday, which was later recovered in a ditch in the 900 block of Vance Road. The case was handed over to Yakima County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Police were called to the 300 block of Sixth Street to investigate a report of a dispute between neighbors. The subjects left prior to the police’s arrival, according to the report.

In other activities, police investigated three traffic incidents, one malicious mischief incident, a report of shots fired, an abandoned vehicle report and three automatic alarms.

Officers also provided two agency assists last weekend.
