Deputies have busy weekend

Deputies from the Yakima County Sheriff’s office have been busy in the Lower Valley this past weekend, starting with an investigation into the theft of a 1993 Chevy pick-up from the 1100 block of West Riverside Avenue near Sunnyside last Friday morning.

Deputies also looked into a report of mail theft in the 3100 block of Yakima Valley Highway near Sunnyside this past Saturday morning.

A potential sex crime is also being investigated by deputies after being reported from the Lower Valley last Friday afternoon.

Deputies also responded to a report of horses being neglected and a report of people shooting targets with a potentially dangerous set-up.

Since last Friday morning deputies have also responded to two reports of animal problems, two reports of suspicious activity, a report of a missing person, four traffic incidents, a report of illegal dumping, two reports of shots fired, a report of assault and three automatic alarms.

In that time deputies also fielded an informational call, arrested a juvenile wanted by the authorities, conducted a welfare check and provided an agency assist.
