Cherry Festival fun slated for April 25-27

GRANGER – The 66th annual Granger Cherry Festival will take place Friday through Sunday, April 25-27.

The Miss Granger and Little Miss Granger pageants will be staged a week earlier on Friday, April 18, at Granger Middle School at 6 p.m. Admission to the pageants is $5. Children under the age of 10 will be admitted free of charge.

During the April 25-27 Cherry Festival there will be entertainment, carnival rides and concessions at Granger City Park.

Bingo will be set up in the park on Saturday and Sunday, and Radio KDNA will provide the entertainment throughout the festivities.

On Saturday, too, the annual Granger Cherry Festival Parade will be staged at 11 a.m. The parade route begins at Granger Elementary School. Judging begins at 9 a.m.

Those annual fishing derby will take place on Sunday. Registrations begin at 7 a.m. at the Granger pond.

Cash prizes for the biggest and heaviest trout will be $125 for top honors, $75 for the runner-up and a tackle box complete with lures from Yakima Bait Co.
