Grizzly bats silent

The Grizzly baseball team is still looking for a win after losing 7-0 to Davis yesterday at home.

Sunnyside improved its defense yesterday, holding the Pirates to four runs over the first six innings, but the Grizzly bats never woke up.

“We just didn’t hit the ball,” said Sunnyside Coach Terry Shines. “We have to hit.”

Shines said his team only had one error in the loss, an improvement over previous games.

“We played pretty good defense,” he said. “Diego Salas made some good digs. We had some good plays at first.”

The Grizzlies fanned eight times in the game and only managed four hits. They only managed to get runners into scoring position twice.

“We had runners on second base, but that’s as far as we got,” said Shines.

Sunnyside (0-7, 0-12) will travel to Davis for a doubleheader this Friday.
