Eloise S. Briones, 83, of Sunnyside passed away peacefully at Sun Terrace and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 25, 2014, in Sunnyside.
Eloise was born Aug. 6, 1930 in San Benito, Texas, the daughter of Arturo and Mercedes (Betran) Salazar.
In 1946 she married Manuel Briones in Harlingen, Texas.
In 1955 she moved to Sunnyside, where she raised her family and was a floor supervisor at Twin City Foods in Prosser for more than 20 years.
Eloise enjoyed watching old western movies, tending her garden and loved watching her favorite baseball team, the Seattle Mariners, but what she loved most was being with family and friends.
Eloise is survived by her sons, Manuel Briones, Jr. of Richland, Jesse (Janell) Briones of Issaquah and Gilbert (Anita) Briones of Sunnyside; one daughter, Virginia Romero-Cervantes of Mexico; 15 grandchildren, Tim Briones, Gibby Briones, Isaac Briones, Manuel Briones III, Vicki (Briones) Evans, Angie Briones, Nicole Briones, Jonny Briones, (plus eight more grandchildren) and 12 great-grandchildren.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Arturo and Mercedes Salazar; husband, Manuel Briones; and son, John Briones.
At Eloise’s request no formal services will be held. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Eloise’s name.
