Burglary suspect detained by Sunnyside police

Sunnyside police just before 2 a.m. this morning (Tuesday) detained a juvenile male after receiving a report of a burglary in the 1700 block of Cascade Way.

The homeowner said she arrived home after being out of town and noticed a television missing. Upon further investigation, she reported a bedroom window was broken.

Officers arrived on scene and located a juvenile male in the area of the home. He was detained on site and questioned regarding the burglary before being released to his mother.

Sunnyside police have since yesterday also received two theft reports. A resident in the 1400 block of North Avenue reported a bicycle and cell phone stolen, and a citizen in the 1400 block of South Eighth Street filed a theft report at the police station. Items stolen in that report were not specified.

Officers, too, have responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call, two automatic alarms, two reported domestic violence situations, a loud music call, four suspicious activity calls, four traffic stops and a non-injury traffic mishap.

Police have also served a court order, dealt with a court order violation, fielded three informational calls, and assisted another agency, as well as two citizens.
